Fantasy Dream Rehab
Fantasy Dream is an indoor dark ride at Lotte World Adventure, opened in 1993, known for its kid-friendly, fairytale-themed experience. It involves a fantasy train ride through a whimsical underground world with candies and animal dolls, making it a popular choice for families. Unlike outdoor rides on Magic Island, Fantasy Dream operates regardless of weather conditions, as it’s housed within the indoor section of the park.
Scope of Work
The refurbishment of Fantasy Dream at Lotte World Adventure involved repairing and replacement of all major components to enhance the ride’s visual and operational quality. The refurbishment involved repairing the ride’s animatronics, which number over 100 and are a core component of the experience. These repairs addressed mechanical or cosmetic issues, such as malfunctioning movements or faded appearances, to ensure the characters (e.g., singing candies and animal dolls) functioned smoothly and looked appealing.

New Beginning
These updates focus on maintaining the ride’s aesthetic quality, as dark rides like Fantasy Dream rely heavily on detailed theming and visual effects to create an engaging experience. The ride remained operational post-refurbishment, as it continued to be featured in reviews and media, such as a 2021 YouTube video by Attractions 360 describing its unique theming.
Park-Wide Practices
Lotte World Adventure, which opened in 1989, is known for periodic maintenance and upgrades to maintain its appeal as a major attraction in Seoul, drawing millions of visitors annually (e.g., 7.58 million in 2011).
